Key Account Manager – Canada

Location: Ontario

Job Summary:

In this role, the Key Account Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, driving customer satisfaction, managing core customers across Retail, Hospital and Specialty channels within Canada. They are also responsible for developing and leading strategic sales initiatives. The Key Account Manager will be a key contributor to sourcing new opportunities and partnerships in the Canadian market.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Key contact for defined Retail, Hospital and Animal Health accounts
  • Responsible for growing sales and executing a customer-focused selling strategy
  • Exceed budgets, including margin targets and profitability
  • Seek out new sales opportunities: find outlets to sell new products, and effectively manage short dated and long stock inventory
  • Meet with key accounts as and when required to ensure call coverage targets are always achieved
  • Lead marketing efforts to drive Teligent awareness
  • Collect and act on competitive information to drive business opportunities
  • Prepare and complete business updates and quarterly reviews with customer focused presentations
  • Prepare and work within an expense budget allocated to the Region
  • Organize and execute trade shows, public events, and communication
  • Participate in professional association committees as necessary
  • Flexibility and comfort with change is expected as responsibilities will fluctuate and vary over time
  • Frequent, open, clear, and effective communication, verbally and written, with peers is essential and expected
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Other duties as requested

Core Competencies:

  • Must have 3-5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or been a Key Account Manager within CPG
  • Solid understanding of generic pharmaceutical industry, retail channel segments, and of government regulations, restrictions and policies
  • Well versed in sales and marketing techniques
  • Experience creating and managing budgets and expenses
  • Ability to interpret market dynamics, create sales plans, and execute accordingly
  • Self-starter who embraces change
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving ability
  • Dynamic oral and written communication
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret sales data
  • High learning ability, agility, prompt follow up, and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree from leading University
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
