Key Account Manager – Canada

Location: Ontario

Job Summary:

In this role, the Account Manager is primarily responsible for end-to-end management of all Hospital, Retail and Specialty contracts and tenders, as well as submitting, managing and executing all contractual agreements. They will also be held responsible for achieving sales target through developing customer relationships and generating new business opportunities in the Canadian market. Working in close collaboration with the National Sales Director and Director of Sales, Hospital and Animal Health, this individual will ensure the needs of all customers are met in a timely and professional manner, and will be responsible for executing various marketing functions to drive brand awareness and continuity between all marketing and communication channels.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Key contact for defined Retail, Hospital and Specialty accounts
  • Responsible for growing sales and executing a customer-focused selling strategy
  • Exceed budgets, including margin targets and profitability
  • Collect and act on competitive information to drive business opportunities
  • Prepare and complete business updates and quarterly reviews with customer focused presentations
  • Prepare and work within an expense budget allocated to the Region
  • Seek out new sales opportunities: find outlets to sell new products, and effectively manage short-dated and long stock inventory
  • Review all current contracts for possible challenges and ensure compliance across all customers
  • Audit customer/contract/pricing setup in SAP and identify gaps to ensure accurate rebate payments
  • Work closely with 3PL to ensure a high quality of customer service
  • Lead marketing and communication efforts to drive Teligent awareness
  • Organize and execute trade shows, public events, and communication
  • Review and maintain sales documents including sell sheets, detail aids, posters and other point of sale materials
  • Flexibility and comfort with change is expected as responsibilities will fluctuate and vary over time
  • Frequent, open, clear, and effective communication, verbally and written, with peers is essential and expected
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Manage and source promotional items including development of vendor relationships
  • Other duties as requested

Core Competencies:

  • Must have 1-3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, or been an Account Manager within CPG
  • Solid understanding of generic pharmaceutical industry, retail channel segments, and of government regulations, restrictions and policies
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret sales data
  • A passionate, creative, proactive, driven and flexible attitude
  • Must be a creative thinker who can work independently and with a team
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to self-manage
  • Well versed in sales and marketing techniques
  • Experience creating and managing budgets and expenses
  • Ability to interpret market dynamics, create sales plans, and execute accordingly
  • Self-starter who embraces change
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving ability
  • Dynamic oral and written communication
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret sales data
  • High learning ability, agility, prompt follow up, and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, SAP, Photoshop
  • Excellent presentation skills and good written and oral communication
  • Bilingual (English and French preferred)

Physical Demands:

  • Lift boxes between 10 and 25 pounds
  • Move, set-up and takedown trade show booths and other equipment
